Church of Santa Chiara in Venafro

The Church, together with the annexed convent, was built starting in 1626 by the will of Niccolò Valletta, a wealthy Venafrano landowner, who for this purpose left behind 8000 ducats. Both the building and the convent have undergone changes and expansions linked to donations that, over the centuries, have fueled the heritage.

Works performed:

  • Consolidation of the vault;
  • Consolidation and restoration of the internal and external plaster;
  • Restoration of relief stuccoes (heads of cherubs, capitals and other decorative elements);
  • Cleaning of inlaid marble altars;
  • Restoration of the wooden altars painted in oil;
  • Restoration of the wooden statue of St. Clare;
  • Restoration of the wooden crucifix with the paper-maché Christ;
  • Restoration of the wooden confessional;
  • Cleaning and protection of majolica flooring;
  • Painting of the walls;
  • Construction of an electrical system;
  • Creation of a smoke detection system;
  • Realization of a sound system and private listening;
  • Implementation of an anti-intrusion system.
